For many NRV residents, the Y Center is a venture into something new and different -- the Y having a building, conducting classes, and hosting events. But, for those of a certain age, they see the YMCA at VT returning to our roots by creating an center for various community and student activities
Once completed, the Y Center will be filled with classrooms, special event areas, a dance floor, conference room, and, of course, the Y Thrift Shop! The next phase of the renovations is the Dance Floor/Special Events Area, scheduled for completion in August 2008. This 2800-square-foot room will have a top quality dance floor for waltzing, swing dancing, contra dancing, and other fun dance programs. It will also be a "home" for the Panjammers rehearsals, and a great space for special events.
If you would like to volunteer to help us with renovations, or donate towards the renovations, please contact Gail at gail@vtymca.org or call 961-9622. We are excited about returning to our roots, holding Y Dances again, and hosting events for the community.
