The Hale- Y Community Garden is not just a place to grow food, it is a place to grow community! The Garden includes a large organic garden for families and individuals to rent space, demonstation gardens showcasing gardening with children, permaculture design, and food crop rotation. The Garden  offers educational programming to the community through the Y Open University.

 The Hale Y Community Garden supports other gardening- and food-related projects, as well. The YMCA works with a very active set of community volunteers, Virginia Tech Civic Agricultural students, Master Gardeners, school groups, and other community groups to make the Hale YMCA Community Garden an asset to Blacksburg and the surrounding area.  Contact the Gardens through the Hale Y Garden Coordinator at jenny@vtymca.org.
