Instructions for registering online:
After clicking the register online link above, go to the New Visitors box to quickly set up an account. This will allow you to register, view classes and manage your account online.
If you want to view classes without setting up an account, go to the View Classes box. Keep in mind You can't register for classes from View Classes mode. If you want to register, click the "log in" link.

Mail - Please include your name, address, phone number, email and classes you would like to register for, and mail with your check or credit card information to 1000 N. Main St., Blacksburg, VA 24060 - please allow a week for your check to reach us before class begins. Please make your check payable to YMCA at Virginia Tech.

In person - Cash, check, VISA or Master Card, 1000 N. Main St. Blacksburg, M-F 9 AM to 4 PM
Registration Information - All classes have limited enrollment. YOU MUST REGISTER BEFORE ATTENDING CLASS.
Class Cancellations
Occasionally, we must cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment, weather, etc. If a class is cancelled the day it is scheduled to start, you will be notified by telephone. Since telephone contacts will be made during the day, please supply your daytime phone number or one where a message can be left for you. When a class is cancelled you will have the option of receiving a full refund or an Open University credit toward another class in the future.
Class Withdrawals
If you cannot attend a class, please let us know by phone or email at least 3 business days prior to the first class meeting to receive a full refund or credit. Late withdrawals can lead to last minute cancellations of classes or keep students on the waiting list from being able to join, so we appreciate your cooperation when at all possible. A student who withdraws fewer than 3 days prior to the first class meeting will receive a refund of the registration fees less $10 or a credit on their account.
Inclement Weather
The YMCA will make a decision on the status of a class by 3pm if the weather is questionable. If a class needs to be cancelled, Open University staff will do their best to contact all enrolled students. When in doubt, students are encouraged to call the YMCA at 540-961-9622 or check www.vtymca.org for an update.
Required Supplies
Some classes require you to bring supplies and others will provide supplies. Please make sure you understand what is required.
Who May Enroll
Most classes are designed for adults unless otherwise noted. For younger students interested in taking a class, please call the YMCA at 540-961-9622 or send us an email and we'll check with the instructor. Parents may be required to attend class with their child.
A Word To Our Students
The YMCA Open University is committed to offering a wide variety of affordable courses open to all members of the community. Instructors agree to a policy that prohibits them from advertising or selling products and services while teaching these classes. The views expressed in class do not necessarily reflect those of the YMCA at Virginia Tech.
