Occasionally, we must cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment, weather, etc. If a class is canceled the day it is scheduled to start, you will be notified by telephone. Otherwise we will send an email. Since telephone contacts will be made during the day, please supply your daytime phone number or one where a message can be left for you. Please also make sure we have your current email address. When a class is canceled you will have the option of receiving a full refund or a credit on your account toward another class in the future.
Late withdrawals can lead to last minute cancellations of classes or keep students on the waiting list from being able to join, so we appreciate your cooperation when at all possible. A student who withdraws fewer than 3 days prior to the first class meeting will receive a refund of the registration fees less $5 (or course credit). A student withdrawing after class begins will receive course credit only.
The YMCA will make a decision on the status of a class by 3pm if the weather is questionable. If a class needs to be canceled, Y staff will attempt to contact students. When in doubt, students are encouraged to call the YMCA at 540-961-9622 or check www.vtymca.org for an update.
Some classes require you to bring supplies and others will provide supplies. Please make sure you understand what is required and contact us with any questions.
Who May Enroll
Most classes are designed for adults unless otherwise noted. For younger students interested in taking a class, please call the YMCA at 540-961-9622 or send us an email and we'll check with the instructor. Parents may be required to attend class with their child.
